We were visiting the Isle of Wight for the first time and weren't sure where to eat, so we checked TripAdvisor. Hewits had good reviews, so we tried it last week. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The service was excellent, helpful and unhurried, and the food was excellent too. We weren't disappointed, and the prices were very fair. They even helped arrange a taxi back to our hotel. I'd thoroughly recommend Hewits to anyone new to the area or on holiday. You won't be disappointed.

I stayed for three nights recently and had a pleasant time overall. I chose a street-facing room, and the single glazing meant some noise got in at times. Noise from a social event also came through the walls. The room itself was comfortable. Breakfast was very basic, but the coffee was good, and having tea facilities in the room was useful.

We had a delicious continental breakfast, and dinner at the restaurant was excellent too. The room was spotless, with a lovely garden view, and the beds were clean and comfortable. A charming traditional little hotel. I’d happily stay again.

We had a relaxed three-course dinner in the private room at the front, which our family group of seven had to ourselves. The staff looked after us attentively without hovering, and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The hosts made us feel welcome even before we arrived. We were staying for a family funeral, and the room was just right, cosy and welcoming. We’ll certainly book again, and hope to try the restaurant next time. Thank you to the hosts.
