Both our room and the dining area were spotless, and the location right on the front is great and handy for the station. Lovely breakfast, thanks Sandy. The shower pressure was low compared with other Premier Inns, and Whitbread, which owns Premier Inn, isn't saving water if you have to shower longer. The free WiFi was painfully slow, so using my phone data was much easier and quicker.
We booked an accessible room for two, but when we arrived it was extremely hot, around 26-27c. I was flustered when the air con didn't work, and the small window was sealed shut. The evening staff switched the air con on for me downstairs, since mine was broken and could only be controlled on the ground floor, not in the room. I had to wait outside in the bitter cold while the room cooled. Later, when it got colder overnight, I couldn't adjust the heating. We were also a bit annoyed that the room had only been prepared for one person, with just one towel and one set of pillows. Luckily we both don't mind a single pillow, and shared the towel because we were too tired to go back downstairs. It was winter, and I paid around £60, so I wasn't too bothered. At £45 or less, I would barely mind at all. But in the height of summer, with temperatures and prices soaring, the air con and window problem would have been really hard. Even so, we slept fairly well and it wasn't too bad overall. I absolutely adore Premier Inn beds. I'd happily book again, since I rarely have these kinds of issues with Premier Inn and usually recommend it.
This is the best Premier Inn I've stayed at for location, with sea views at breakfast and incredibly friendly staff. The food is what you'd expect from a Whitbread, but it's always tasty, piping hot and nicely presented. Parking in the underground car park or at the rear is easy to reach through an internal door and a lift. Gold star.
The air conditioning wasn't working, so the room got very hot and there was no fresh air. The hotel was full, but Yann kindly brought us a fan for the first night. The next morning he quickly arranged another room, where we had working air conditioning and a lovely sea view for the rest of our two-night stay. A wonderful stay overall. Thank you, Yann!
Really nice hotel, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent too. I ordered Fish & Chips as part of the meal deal, and the cod was so massive I had to cancel the Banoffee Cheesecake. Definitely 8 Bananas. Respect, guys.
