We loved the location and the hot tub, and can’t wait to come back. The owners were available throughout our stay to answer questions, and the property was spacious and really well appointed. Newquay was great, with fab restaurants and pubs. We even spotted humpback whales off fistral beach!

We stayed in July 2018, and this was one of the best B&Bs in Newquay, hands down. The couple who own and run it were so friendly and helpful, and couldn’t have done more for us. Our room, number 4, was exactly what we wanted, super clean and tidy, and we slept like logs. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and they were more than happy to swap items if you wanted. I really can’t give this place enough credit. We’ll be back in 2019!

The Blue Door is handy for Newquay centre, about a five-minute downhill walk to the bars and restaurants. We were there from 14-18 June, the weather was brilliant, and our sea-view room even had a telescope. Breakfast was first class. It was brought to our room early each morning, with overnight oats, fruit and cake, all so yummy. I think breakfast is normally in the dining area, but that was closed because of COVID-19. The beaches are absolutely stunning, with loads of walks and things to do. We took a bus to Padstow for the day, about an hour away. It has a lovely little harbour, plenty of traditional pubs and Rick Steins famous fish and chip shop. I recommend Crantock Beach too. On the way, stop at Fern Pitt cafe, which looks over the estuary and beach. You can cross in a small boat for £2, and there are a couple of pubs on the other side that make the walk much more enjoyable. I recommend The Blue Door if you want to stay near the centre. Most of all, the owners deserve praise for that really good breakfast, which I still dream about.

The location and breakfast were wonderful, and it was good value for the price. The room was a bit tiny and wasn’t cleaned at all because of quarantine. There was also a damp smell in the bathroom and from the linen, which took away from the stay a little.

The breakfast arrived fresh at our door, and it was wonderful. It’s a lovely place in a great location. We couldn’t meet Shawn & Lou in person because of the pandemic, but they were always a text away and really helpful. They made our mini-moon feel even more special. Thank you!!
