Breakfast was great as usual, and the bed was comfy, though it had a thick winter duvet. The room was okay but only had one bath towel instead of two, despite a handy sticker suggesting guests reuse towels. Reception was so short staffed that nobody could answer the phone, and check-in took 20 minutes. Not a shining example of customer service. Three stars.

The location was just right, around a five-minute walk from the city centre, and our spacious rooms were clean and comfortable. My friends and I stayed for the weekend and were really pleased. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful throughout, especially Nicola and Ranbia. The stay ended up better than we’d expected.

The room was spacious and pretty good overall, though the floor could’ve been cleaner. I would’ve liked extra towels and a shower wand, since there was only an overhead spout. The hotel’s within walking distance of city attractions. Parking is limited and costs £25 per day with the hotel discount code. If that lot’s full, you have to use talbot center, where the discounted rate is £15.

The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel is ideally placed for exploring the city centre. Staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. I needed the facilities before I’d been given a key card, and someone rushed over to let me in. Breakfast felt almost like personal service from the duty manager, and the same gentleman went the extra mile to sort out problems with the parking meter. Everyone greeted us with a smile. I’d recommend it.
