Greencourt Guest House

The landlord was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for my friend and me during our stay. It’s a lovely little guest house overlooking the bowls club and Oban’s rooftops.

Tony was very accommodating. We asked to move from a room across the hall from the bathroom to one with a private bath, and he switched us right away. The place is on a hill overlooking Oban, and breakfast in the morning had both hot and cold options. A very good stay.

Tony greeted us warmly and talked us through everything we needed to know. There’s off-street parking, which matters with how hard it is to find a space on the narrow streets. The room was a squeeze with our large suitcase, though the bathroom was roomy. The bed and surfaces were clean, with just a little dust on the picture frames and bathroom heater. Breakfast was a good self-service continental spread. We paid £130 for one night.

For about £130 a night, it felt like decent value. The room was a little cold and could have been cleaner, though it was still fine. The owner was friendly and involved, and had useful suggestions for nearby places. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was especially nice.
