Kilchrenan House

Oban is easy to get around on foot, and the esplanade is a lovely area to stay in. Our room was cool and comfortable, with a separate little foyer containing a dresser, fridge and tea station, which worked really well. They topped up the tea and coffee each day, and even left OJ and a cookie. Just be aware that our room was up a long flight of stairs. We had a great stay.

The sea view was peaceful, and the location made it easy to walk into town. We stayed before boarding a small cruise ship for a tour of the Scottish coast. Our room was clean and comfortable. When we had trouble cooling it, the owner quickly sent someone to help and offered us a better room. I then realized the temperature issue was because I hadn't understood how to work the safety locks on the windows. The staff took our comfort seriously, and I was very pleased with every part of the stay.

A nice stay in a quiet, convenient spot. The room had all the amenities we needed, including enough to make a light meal or a drink in the mornings. Breakfast wasn't included, but that wasn't a problem.

We were made to feel so welcome by Andi and the two staff members we met. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The new owners, Andi and her husband, had just taken over from the longtime owners Frances & Colin Davren when we stayed at the lovely Kilchrenan House over the weekend of April 11-13, 2025. Room 5 had a wonderful sea view, a fireplace we didn't need in the gorgeous weather, a spacious bathroom and a king size bed. There was coffee, tea, orange juice and biscuits in the room. Breakfast isn't provided, though there are plenty of places to eat nearby, and parking is ample and free. We enjoyed taking the ferry to Isle of Mull and Iona on Saturday, and would recommend the experience. We also loved Costa Coffee and chatting with the owners. A great place to stay while exploring this charming area, and we'd love to return to Oban.
