A great place, beautifully set on Dartmoor and close to Dartmeet. There’s a lovely chalet with hot food, hot drinks and locally made ice cream. Brimps Farm has the tin mine trail, shepherd’s huts, other accommodation and acres of space for walking and trying to spot local red deer and other kinds of deer.

Just got home from a four-night Christmas stay. The cottage was beautiful, with gorgeous views, a lovely hot tub, everything we needed and a nice log burner. There were good walks nearby, and the pub was about half an hour on foot and lovely too. We were sorry to leave. Thanks for a lovely stay, can’t wait to come back!

We slept really well and set off the next morning feeling rested. We’d arrived without warning hoping to camp, but the camping field was being used by a youth training scheme. After a quick chat, the leaders kindly let us put our pup tent in a different field and found an outlet so I could charge my bike battery. The hotel and tea room were closed, so all they could offer us was water. We had enough supplies, though, and the setting was lovely. Recommended.

Everyone running Brimpts was so friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome both times we stayed. We’ve been to the Barn for a group trip and to the cottage for a short family break, and both were wonderful. The Barn was warm, clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, a big communal hall with a wood burner, and a dry room that was very useful after kayaking. The jacuzzi was a treat for aching muscles. The cottage felt like a little gem, with a roomy sitting room and wood burner, a bright, well-equipped kitchen, and a conservatory dining area with a large table. There’s also a small yard out back with another lovely jacuzzi. Both stays were excellent value. We can’t wait to return.

We rented the Barn for a family get-together and would definitely book it again. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, with plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. The rooms were comfortable, and the children and grown-ups all found something to enjoy, from the hot tub and fire pit to the snooker table. Some of our group went for walks nearby and came back raving about the views. Thank you for a lovely stay.
