The room was great, the bed comfortable, and it was very quiet. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was poor, though, hopefully a one-off: everything was overcooked, including hard bacon, sausage, and black pudding. I'd definitely return for another great stay, but would probably skip breakfast.

Our overnight stay in the family room was great. The evening meal and breakfast were both spot on, and every team member we dealt with was absolutely brilliant. Many thanks.

The carvery dinner was great and the staff were good, but I'm really disappointed by what happened after our one-night visit from Canada. It was my first time in the UK in years. We entered our registration twice, once at the bar and again for the hotel reservation, and the clerk said she had it. Now I've received a £100 parking notice, and the car rental company charged another £35 administration fee for sending it to me. I've contacted the hotel for two weeks, but keep getting passed between email addresses and still have no response about how they'll put this right. Why should we have to pay this fine? It was a good trip otherwise, but this has been very disappointing.

We’ve stayed here more than 20 times and keep coming back. The staff are lovely, and Mo, the manager, is a pleasure to deal with. When the website showed no rooms left for our last-minute visit, he found one for us straight away. We were happy to wait while it was prepared, so we went home to collect our things. We live nearby and sometimes book a night away from the kids. With four teenagers at home, a bit of space is welcome. We’ve tried most of the family rooms because we like having room, but 101 and 102 are our favourites since they’re tucked away and quiet. The rooms have always been clean and tidy for us, and we’ve never had a problem. We leave ours as we found it at check-in. We usually eat at the carvery, which gets busy, so it’s best to book. That extra time before the 12 pm checkout is handy too, as there’s no need to rush. I’d recommend staying here. Experiences can differ, of course, but ours have always been good. We look forward to coming back.
