Grains Bar Hotel

The cooked breakfast was an optional extra and cost less than a tenner. We had the included light buffet too, with a good choice of cereal, juice, tea and coffee, including cafetière, plus toast and preserves. Our room, number 5, was bright, clean and very comfortable. The ensuite was a little small but spotless and perfectly adequate. The grounds look out over beautiful rolling hills, and all the staff we met were engaging and pleasant. We booked for a Saturday night event in Oldham and expected little for the price, but Grains Bar turned out to be a real gem. We didn't get a chance to explore the area, though it looked pleasant. Wish we'd booked a longer stay! 🙁

Breakfast was freshly cooked, served hot and nicely presented, with nothing left sitting on hot plates. We were really taken with the decor and furnishings, and the staff are lovely. The owner even took time out of her busy day to chat with us, which we appreciated. Thanks for a lovely stay. I'll definitely come back when I'm visiting my Dad.

We had dinner in the Restaurant and the steak was the best we've had in a long time. Breakfast was good too: the light option was included in the room price, with a really good selection, and the eggs Benedict we ordered were delicious. The hotel and grounds are lovely, and the attentive staff made us feel at home. We spent a relaxing evening here for my husband's birthday, staying one night in the Lurden top hut. It was cosy, had everything we needed, and the views were picturesque. The bed was comfortable, and the little step to get up onto it was very handy for little legs here 😂 We'd happily recommend it.

The team made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the whole place had a warm, homely feel. Our room was spotless, comfortable and well equipped, and the food was excellent. Grains Bar Hotel sits in lovely countryside with views across the hills, while still being close to Oldham and local amenities. It's a peaceful spot for a walk or just to unwind. The service was attentive throughout, and nothing felt like too much trouble. We had a fantastic stay and can't wait to return.
