Mill House Bed and Breakfast

Clement Scott, who came up with the description 'Poppylands' for Overstrand and Cromer, used to stay here, as did some other well known Victorian writers. The period furnishings are carefully chosen throughout, alongside modern facilities. We especially appreciated the excellent hospitality tray with fresh milk. A very special place, with a lovely house and owner. Can't fault it, and hopefully we'll stay again if we're back in the area.

This is the best B & B we’ve stayed in, and we’d come back if we’re in the area. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice, including fresh fruit salad and local sausage and bacon from the owner's brother's butchers. The carefully furnished period house retains its atmosphere, and the mature garden between the house and road keeps things quiet. There’s a residents' lounge full of DVDs and books, though we were out enjoying the interesting area most of the time. Victorian writer Clement Scott, who coined 'Poppyland', stayed here regularly, along with several writer friends. Don't be put off by a previous review!

Denise made us feel very welcome and puts a lot of effort into making a stay enjoyable. We had four nights at mill house, a lovely place, and the breakfast was outstanding with a good choice.

Denise was a wonderful hostess, and we’d be glad to come back. The location was really nice, and our double bedroom had plenty of room with a large bathroom and shower. Breakfast had a nice selection, including a spot on full English. Definitely worth 10 stars.
