The Jacaranda Hotel

Jo was an amazing host, nothing was too much trouble, and breakfast was the best. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with the town, seafront, harbour and shops nearby. We had a wonderful stay and it felt like a home from home.

The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the host was amazing. Jo could not do enough for her guests, most of whom seemed to be returning visitors. The beach and shops are just a stones throw away. We enjoyed our stay so much that we've booked again for next year. 100% recommend.

The bedroom was a decent size with a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee were provided, the place was reasonably quiet, and the location was great. But the front looks tacky and unkempt, with cigarette butts around. There was very little interaction with the hosts. I only saw them when I arrived to hand over my keys and find out where my room was, then when a man smoking in the porch blocked the exit and apologized. I emailed weeks ahead to ask about breakfast and got no reply. Despite the website, booking.com and the board outside saying breakfast was available, nobody offered it. The shower was filthy, with black mould on the head, under the soap holder, behind the shower metal and in the bottom corners. The duvet cover was stained, there were no toiletries, and I wasn't given a clean cup for the second day. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

The room was clean and adequate in size, and Jo makes an excellent breakfast. It's a lovely little place, with the seafront a very handy five-minute walk away. Yes, I'll be back.
