We loved the enormous bed and had an incredible night’s sleep, then enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a sea view. The hotel has a cosy, homely feel alongside a touch of luxury, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating with our dog. Afterward, we went to the Grove at Narbeth, but preferred Penally, especially for its location next to Tenby. Thoroughly recommended, and thanks to everyone at the hotel.

The setting and decor were stunning, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Dinner was heavenly, from the three courses to the final glass of champagne. I loved trying the cheese ice cream, the artichoke puree was to die for, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the rhubarb was a treat. We started with a superb cocktail.

The starters were breathtaking, Michelin 3* quality. But it’s the rooms, the friendly and capable staff, the food and the whole atmosphere that make the place so special. They’ve won “Best Hotel in Wales 2025,” so this review may be redundant. Raid your bank account, you really won’t regret it.

A lovely walk through the dunes takes you to the beach in about 15 minutes. We have a two-year-old, and the staff made him feel very welcome, which we really appreciated. Everyone was genuinely friendly and professional, the food was superb, and the wine list was well put together and reasonably priced. We arrived to a roaring fire and felt welcome straight away. Penally Abbey is a rare find. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
