We never got to visit this beautiful property because of our awful experience with Sykes Cottages, which has also cost the owners business. I feel sorry for them, as they deserve much better service. I’d be very happy for the owners to contact me directly. I first asked to change our dates 14 weeks ahead of time, but spent over three weeks trying to get it sorted. I had to keep chasing Sykes and explaining myself to different team members by text. There’s no way to speak to anyone. Eventually, I got a text saying I could change to a different property, which I was happy with. But when I went to reply and confirm, the message had been deleted. Then we got an email saying they couldn’t amend the booking after all. I’ve tried to ask why the original message was removed, but it’s like pulling teeth, and I don’t have the time or patience left. I won’t pay Sykes another penny for this booking, and I’ve asked them to cancel it. I don’t want to deal with them any longer.

We all enjoyed our stay in this beautiful farmhouse, full of charm and character. It felt comfortable and homely, and the location was a real treasure, away from the busy everyday life of town or city. Being able to feed the animals each day was a lovely bonus.

The warm, friendly hosts made us feel welcome, and the garden with its BBQ was lovely in the evenings. This authentic farm cottage is ideally placed for tourists, close to lots of beaches and attractions. There’s also a little field out front with a trampoline, football goal and volleyball or badminton net, which made for fun, active family evenings. The kids especially loved feeding the pigs and goats just in front of the cottage with food scraps from the waste bin. For that week, it even gave them another reason to eat fruit! Thanks for a lovely break from the usual merry go round, and for helping us make more family memories.

We had a great family holiday in this cosy cottage, visiting places that were all within a half-hour drive. The hosts were friendly, and we had lots of fun feeding the goats, pigs and lamas. I’d picked the wrong rating in my previous review.
