Premier Inn Peterborough - Ferry Meadows

We paid a small extra charge for a room overlooking the golf course instead of the car park. It was clean and nicely presented, with a lovely bed and duvet. There was no air conditioning, but the fan in the room was very high quality. Keep the windows shut, since you can hear the early bird golfers chatting on the course.

The hotel is close to my work, so the location suited me, and I enjoyed the good food and breakfast at beefeater. Demi at the front desk was brilliant when checking me in, five stars for her. The rooms didn't have working air conditioning, which was far from ideal. On my last day, nobody was at the front desk or answered the bell, so I couldn't discuss baggage arrangements.

The attached Beefeater is very good, and the hotel is clean. It works well for visiting the showground or Steam Railway, and it's only a few minutes from the A1. Most rooms have open views.

The whole second floor smelled of sewage and eggs through the evening and morning. At breakfast, which we'd paid £10.99 each for on arrival, there was hardly anything to serve ourselves. The woman said that if it wasn't on the list, we'd get whatever was there. There were no beans and the bacon was cold. The red-haired lady stared at us while we waited, and we could hear staff talking about us and the payment. When we asked for our money back because the choices weren't worth £10.99, we were told the chef was making something, but nothing came. They were putting the juices and yoghurts away before breakfast had ended, which was off-putting if you wanted anything later. Don't stay here. Staff need training in customer service and friendliness. It's an absolutely shocking, disgusting place.
