We came back for a second meal this week and were just as pleased with the service. The young lad who served us was polite and couldn’t have been more helpful, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and chatty while we ordered. I’d read some reviews while waiting for our food on our first visit and wondered if we’d chosen badly, but I was completely wrong. To be clear, we only ate here, we didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the rooms.

Lovely setting, and the beer garden is great. The staff are brilliant too. They’d sold their last steak and ale pie, so Dad said not to worry and that he’d go to a bakery. The bartender actually got in his car and went to pick one up for him, lol.

We were camping this year, so I can’t say anything about the hotel rooms, though I was told they’ve been updated since I last visited. The place has new owners since our visit three years ago, and while I didn’t meet them, the staff were a real credit to them. Even on a busy weekend they were so friendly and helpful. They set up a TV in the back room so we could watch Strictly, and couldn’t have done more for us. Thanks to the lovely lady behind the bar, who’d thrown her husband in at the deep end behind the bar. He handled it perfectly well! We dropped by the pub on Saturday and Sunday at the end of October 2021.

I was staying at the Station Hotel on curry night, and the curry was easily the best I’ve ever had. The staff were great, so friendly and welcoming, and the place is looking lovely. The rooms are good value too, so I’ll be back shortly. Thanks again!

We shared a Station Stack between three of us and it was delicious. The place was spotless and attractive, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I’d highly recommend the food. They told me there’s 15% off if you have a train ticket, too. What’s not to like?
