Mary looked after us brilliantly at Ellangowan house. The setting is wonderful, and the house is beautiful. Our rooms were spotless, very spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was incredible, with eggs cooked however you like, plus toast, bacon, sausage, black pudding and mushrooms. Couldn’t ask for more. If we’re back this way, we’ll stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay a few weeks ago. Ellangowan House B&B is set in a beautiful property in a very quiet part of Pitlochry, yet the town centre is only a few minutes’ walk away. The rooms were large, lovely, and comfortable. Mairi was a spectacular host, and breakfast each day was wonderful, served in a beautifully decorated dining room. The whole place felt so relaxing. There’s a big driveway for parking and great views across the valley. Spectacular!
We come to Pitlochry every year for three nights to see the shows at the Festival Theatre, and this b&b has become our favourite base for a comfortable stay and exploring the area. We’ve tried a couple of other places. There are only three rooms, but they’re all well appointed, with very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. They’re also nice places to relax. The location works perfectly for the theatre, at the same end of Pitlochry. It’s a small town, but it gets busy, and tour buses can clog the main street. Marie always gives us a genuinely friendly welcome, and her breakfasts are really good.
Our host was kind, friendly, and very helpful. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed it a lot. Ellangowan House is an amazing place, with comfortable rooms that are beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished. Everything was more than clean, and breakfast was delicious, made with plenty of fresh ingredients. We’d recommend it to everyone.
We were very happy with our stay and plan to come back soon. Ellangowan is a charming Edwardian B&B, and it’s very biker friendly, with plenty of room for motorcycles. We were on a motorbike trip around Scotland and stayed in room 3, which was huge, beautifully furnished, and full of homely touches. The bathroom was just as big, with both a shower and a bath. Mary, our lovely hostess, paid close attention to our comfort. Breakfast runs from 8 to 9, which gave us a wee lie-in. There was a choice of continental, full English, or a mix, and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend it enough. Catherine and Steven from Newcastle.
