The service really made up for the room’s downsides. We arrived to find the double bed in our family room was broken, so they went out of their way to find us another option. With no family rooms left, they upgraded us to two rooms for free. My bed wasn’t great, and the room stayed a little cold even with the heater left on all night.

I was between houses for work and stayed here for four months. The staff are caring and really friendly, always willing to go out of their way to help. The rooms could use a bit of touching up, but they keep renovating during the quieter winter months. Plenty of contractors stayed here while construction of the power station was getting underway. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely come back.

We stopped at the service station for food. As we were leaving in a “loud drift car” and about to join the carriageway, the hotel owner ran up to us waving an axe in our faces and threatening to “chop us up.” He seemed very dangerous and unstable. Stay away from this place. I reported the incident to the police.

There’s a cafe on site, but it shuts at 5:30 pm, so food isn’t easy to get later. Getting in and out is awkward too, since access is only from the southbound side. For the price, though, it was OK, I guess. The mattresses really aren’t good.
