The Miller Of Mansfield Goring

The four cheese pizza was incredible and tasted amazing. I stopped for a meal while passing through Goring last week with a group of six. We hadn't booked, but the staff found us a table. They were really pleasant and attentive.

We come back once a year, hoping the food has improved because the location is fantastic. The dishes are okay if you choose carefully and stick to the classics. Service staff show so little interest that they let the decent food down. It's a shame, as this pub could be amazing.

Ate here on Saturday night and it was all straightforward and easy. The pub grub was solid, and the building and location are lovely. It's just right for what it is, with fair prices and nothing fancy.

For one of the few pubs in town, I found this a poor visit. Sunday roasts were advertised from 12 to 5, but we were told we had to eat by 3 or it would be too late. The food was standard and piled high, to be fair, but the cauliflower was still frozen in the middle, under what I imagine was white sauce. The landlord was gruff, and wanted us out of the bar before closing. There was no morning hello at breakfast. Despite paying a high price to stay, I felt like an inconvenience. There was only one tea bag in a double room too. I wouldn't return.
