The Crown Inn

The Crown was easily the best pub we ate at during our trip. We spent a few days in Wales and only found it on our last night, which is a shame because I wish we’d eaten there every evening. I’m a good cook myself, and I’m often amazed by how rubbish restaurant food can be, but not here. My partner had the hearty, delicious Belly of Pork, and I had Tagliatelle pasta that tasted like something from a really good Italian restaurant. It came with amazing Foccacia garlic and salt bread. The cosy pub has loads of character, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Pubs are sadly a dying trade, and good food can be hard to find. The Crown has got it just right. Full credit to the chef, it was worth every penny.

I only went for dinner, so I can comment on the food. The meals were excellent and well priced, with a nice range to choose from that wasn’t overwhelming. Service at the bar was excellent too.

The food and desserts were absolutely amazing, and we enjoyed every bit. My husband, our two kids and I were seated straight away, and ordering drinks and food was easy. The people there were great and really attentive from the moment we walked in. We’d highly recommend the Crown and will definitely be back.

It’s dog friendly and incredibly conveniently located, right opposite the Lamb&Flag. The place is warm and cosy, with a lovely atmosphere and great staff. The food was good, though nothing special. I’ll definitely come here again.
