It felt like staying at a mate’s house, and the host was lovely. The rooms and shared bathroom were really clean, and I had no complaints. It’s a bargain for the area, with lots of places to eat and drink a 10-15 minute walk away. The place is a local business, so it’s nice to support it. We stayed because there was a wake in the pub opposite. The airport is perfectly placed nearby, about a 10-minute walk away, and you can watch planes take off from the back window. There are only a few each day. You can hear some aircraft outside, but the windows must be triple glazed because with them shut you can hardly hear anything.

The family running this place made me feel welcome while still respecting my privacy. It’s basically spare rooms for airport travellers, converted into hotel-style rooms with the expected basics like tea, coffee and towels. Everything was clean and tidy. A lovely couple, and I’d recommend staying here if a spare room setup suits you.

I’m booked for Tuesday 9th and can’t get anyone to answer my email or calls. Is the room en-suite, and if my travel is delayed, will someone be there to let us in?

Communication was the worst ever. There was a kerosene smell and noise all day.
