We only wanted a quick drink before catching the ferry, but left soon after with just our drinks. At 2pm the place was almost empty, yet we were told the window tables were reserved for that evening. We offered to order food so we could sit there, but got the same answer. Nobody arrived during our visit, and they missed out on a food order. The restaurant area was bright and well lit, which is the only reason I’m giving an extra star.

The place was closed, but we still dined like kings. Ashley took great care of us, and the food and service were excellent. Whatever you pay him, he’s overdue for a raise!

The lady at the nearby B&B where I was staying, Sunnyside, recommended this place when we asked where to find good food. I’m so glad she did. We went two days in a row because everything was so good. The food was impeccable, with so much flavour. The peppercorn sauce was fantastic, the macaroni was chef’s kiss, and the grilled sea bass too. It’s just as you get off the ferry. Maybe it’s just me, but the food tasted like your granny made it. 👌

We ate here every day during our three days in Rothesay. It’s one of the few places open for dinner there, and the meals are hearty and delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive, though it can get very busy depending on how many visitors are on the island. Prices are reasonable and the views are great. I’d definitely come back.

After walking all morning, my partner and I stopped for a quick pint. There was nobody else there apart from one member of staff. We asked to sit by the window for the bay view and were told it was reserved for “tonight.” We even offered to buy food, but were still told no. It was 2pm and the place was empty. How hard would it have been to wipe a table? It just felt lazy.
