The garden room was worth paying extra for. It sits by the canal and looks out over historic Rye, so it was lovely to spend the evening out there with a beer or two, especially since my fiancé's condition meant we couldn't be out all evening. She treated me to a night in Rye and had stayed here before with her cousin, so she was happy to book it again. The staff were fantastic, always pleasant and willing to go the extra mile. They brought extra pillows for my pregnant fiancé. There's a good sized car park for guests, and the rail station isn't far away, so getting there is relatively easy. The hotel is just across a small quay, away from the tourists, but the tourist part of Rye is only a two minute walk. The bed was my only issue, it creaked a bit. The mattress was soft, there was plenty of room, and the bathroom was very good with a nice shower. Breakfast was included. I had the full English: two rashers of bacon, sausage, egg, fried tomato, beans, and the best fried mushrooms I've had in many a moon. I also had a few glasses of apple juice and a small bowl of cereal, not bad going! Rye is only an hour away for us, so we intend to return and would definitely stay here again.

The cooked breakfasts were made to order and fantastic, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We spent three nights at The River Haven hotel while exploring Rye and the surrounding area. It was spotlessly clean, with ample parking. Since the town is only a five minute walk away, we left the car at the hotel during the day and didn't have to worry about finding a space. If I'm back in Rye, I'll certainly stay at The River Haven Hotel again. I have no hesitation recommending the hotel and its staff.

The breakfast wasn't all I hoped for. The eggs royale was beautifully presented and delicious, but the avocado and egg on toast was poor: soggy bread with avocado spread on it and a poached egg plonked at the side. Breakfast was included, and I wouldn't have paid for that dish. There was bread, cereal and fruit to help yourself to, so we didn't go hungry. Even so, everything else about the stay made up for that dish, and we'll definitely return. Maybe we'll both get eggs royale next time! :) We'd booked for the location and the convenience of parking, but I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. They were clean and a good size, and I loved the smart TV. The woman who greeted us was so friendly, and the other staff were smiley and happy to help with questions.

The breakfast was exceptional, freshly cooked and nicely presented. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and parking was free. The hotel is right by the river and only a very short walk from Rye.

We had a lovely river view from our room at the Riverhaven, which was spotlessly clean and well presented. Staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was lovely. We'll definitely stay here again.
