We had a lovely room for the weekend, with fluffy towels and a huge range of toiletries available if requested. The suite also has a lovely garden and free parking. Reception showed us around and shared the building's history over a lovely whiskey. The hotel dates back to the 1600s, and some rooms still have original features. Breakfast looked great, but we were meeting family for breakfast at the coy club. Brilliant hotel, highly recommend.

The room was a little smaller than we'd expected, but it was lovely, very clean, neatly decorated and had a really nice bathroom. We had a ground-floor classic king-size room with no view, which felt acceptable for the price. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar was cosy and nicely presented. Breakfast was buffet-style, with eggs cooked the way you like. The sausages had chewy skins, which I wasn't keen on, but the meal was just about worth it overall, and the service was very good. Parking behind the hotel fits around six cars, so it's first come, first served. There are car parks nearby. After reading some reviews, I'm glad we weren't put off.

The bedding was clean and lovely, but the quality felt very cheap and wasn't nice against my skin. The hotel itself was lovely and clean. The room gets cold without the heating, but its wall-mounted heater has a very bright light, so I had to switch it off at night to sleep properly. By the time I woke up, the room was only 12°.

The staff were so kind and lovely, and helped with dinner suggestions and ideas for things to do during the day. My room was small but perfectly fine, with lots of thoughtful details. The floor creaks and isn't quite level, but for me that's part of the special charm of a historic building. Everything was very clean. I'd only suggest brighter lighting in the breakfast area, a tiny complaint after such a fantastic stay.

It's ideally placed for Salisbury centre. We had a good choice at breakfast and the hot food was excellent. The chef was very obliging, and the gentleman serving breakfast shared lots of information about local history.
