Took my mum and dad for a midweek treat, and both the food and service were superb. The meals were delicious and better than I expected. The home-baked bread alone is worth going for. We'll be back.

We heard great things and went for Sunday lunch today. That roast was bloody handsome, the best we've had. Lovely staff, and the pub feels like a proper pub. We'll 100% be back!

Ruby made the evening even easier, bringing our drinks over with the card reader so we could stay put. We stopped here on a Saturday train pub crawl, and it was easily our favourite. The courtyard was lovely, the locals and staff were friendly, and the Greek kebabs with homemade sauces and sides were incredible. Prices were good too. Can’t wait to come back.

We all talked about how lovely the pub looked, with its atmosphere and decor. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the food came out hot and quickly in generous portions. I had garlic mushrooms followed by chicken milanese, both brilliant. We had a great family meal at the Eliot last night.

The food was tasteless at best. The vegetables were overcooked, everything was drowned in too much gravy, and the cauliflower cheese was runny, with overcooked broccoli in it. For £22, the Sunday lunch offered only two meat choices and one vegetarian option, even though the website menu listed £14.99 or £15.99. Desserts were £8.50, and the choices were basically sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownies. We’d read lovely reviews from just two months earlier, but it felt like a completely different place. We won’t return. The young woman who served us did take our feedback seriously, and I hope she passes it on to the owners of the Eliot Arms.
