Innkeeper's Lodge Sandbach, Holmes Chapel

We were seated in what was basically a corridor, which was a nightmare with our dog and four-year-old. This was our second visit, and the service left us disappointed. The food is extremely overpriced and underwhelming. A child's pizza with a tiny side salad and a drink cost £8.50. It was like the 99p supermarket kind, and so hard that we could have used it as a Frisbee. Our granddaughter wouldn't eat it. Sorry, we won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The evening meal was very poor, so we won't be returning. The staff were pleasant and clearly doing their best, which made it hard to complain to them. We had prebooked breakfast, but that was a mistake since paying separately for what we got would have been cheaper.

The bedroom was so hot, with no thermostat to adjust the temperature, that sleeping was impossible. The hotel room itself was very nice, the staff were friendly, and the food was good. Great hotel. Next time I’ll bring a tomato plant 🪴 😀

The restaurant was fabulous, though a bit busy. With food this good, it’s easy to see why. We had a fantastic stay and it was well worth visiting.
