Sandhill

The location worked well, about a 15-minute walk to the beach and shops. Staff were lovely and took care of everything we needed. For the affordable price, I can't really complain, though the place is very old fashioned and the rooms need refurbishing. It was really hot when we visited, and with no ventilation the rooms felt stuffy. Breakfast was fine but basic, with small portions. The takeaway continental option was just simple snacks, and the help-yourself buffet had only a few plain cereals and yoghurts. More choice would've been nice. Still, it was a nice stay for the price.

That little bar was lovely, and after a week at Sandhill Guest House, it really felt like home. David, Andy and lovely Wendy gave us such a warm welcome. Our superior king room was spotlessly clean, with an ensuite bath and shower and a fabulous view across the island. We enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfasts, and they were happy to accommodate our requests. The sign at reception says, 'Enter as strangers and leave as friends.' That's just what happened. We'll certainly be back. Thank you.

The host was friendly and really caring, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a pleasant two-night stay. It's conveniently close to the beach, and we had a positive experience. I'd recommend this hotel.

The hosts were friendly, and breakfast was nice, though the continental selection was small, just croissants and fruit. The rooms had no hooks, and the bathrooms weren't cleaned during our stay. Beds weren't made either; they only changed the bins and brought towels when we needed them. The location was perfect, a five-minute walk to the beach, with great shops and restaurants nearby. Our room had a lovely countryside view.
