Sawdon Heights

The pitches at Sawdon Heights are roomy, each with amazing views. The toilet and shower room was spotless, and the owners were so friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.

We brought our own caravan and had a really pleasant visit. The owners are friendly and very helpful, and we’ll certainly come back. Our friends came with their young children, who had a ball running about and enjoying themselves without being told to quiet down or moved along. A great place, well worth trying.

We first knew Sawdon Heights as a B&B and stayed there three or four times before buying our caravan in 2020. This is our second caravan stay, and we’ve already recommended the site to friends. They joined us in their van, liked it so much they plan to return. Sue makes you feel welcome, and the site is handy for Scarborough, Whitby and Filey, with the NYMR at Pickering among the other places to visit. There are walks and cycling routes in Wykeham Forest, and Dalby Forest is a short drive away. You might spot hares and pheasants in the fields, along with plenty of birds. The views stretch across the Vale of Pickering towards the Yorkshire Wolds and are superb. It’s easy to find, although the final mile or so from Sawdon village is on a single-track road. We’re coming back later in 2021 for another relaxing break.

We’ve been back since our first visit and enjoyed plenty of walks in the nearby woods without needing to drive. It’s a lovely site, with friendly, helpful owners and a great spot for trips to Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Flamborough. Wifi is now available too. Still a great cl. Hope to return again.
