No.16

The place looks lovely and modern, but I barely slept. The walls and windows are paper thin, and there’s traffic from the busy road. The cleaners were noisy too. The pillows had no support, and although there was a mattress topper, there wasn’t a mattress protector.

The room was lovely and the decor even matched my Bunny 🤣. There were spare blankets in the drawers, and tea, coffee and snacks, plus a useful local amenities brochure. It was clean, comfortable and convenient, with shops and cafes nearby and the station, town and beach all within reach. As a solo traveller I really appreciated the security. The room was a bit warm, but there was a fan and the windows opened. Some rooms face the road, so expect traffic noise there. Parking is available.

There’s loads of walking to do around Seaham, and I even spotted two dolphins near the shore on a walk north along the beach. I also went to Penshaw monument, Herrington Country Park and Castle Eden dene nature reserve. The town is lovely, and I’m looking forward to coming back. At no.16, the room was beautiful and had everything I needed, replenished daily. Communication before arrival was great, so getting in was easy. I parked on the drive, though there’s plenty of on-road parking too.

We booked two deluxe rooms, but there was no fridge and the room was so dusty I could write my name in it. The kettle badly needed descaling, and the stairs to the first floor were very steep. At least the bed was clean and comfortable, and we were near cafes and restaurants.
