Sella Park House Hotel

We were there for the Sea to Summit Ultra, and the staff were very accommodating. They even let us have dinner in our rooms, and the chef made some excellent shakes that weren’t on the menu. Our super king room was one of the biggest I’ve stayed in, with a coffee station, smart TV, makeup area and ensuite bath. A quiet, tucked away gem in the Lake District, surrounded by countryside and only a 10m drive from the coast. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend it.

The food is always gorgeous, plentiful and spot on. I had fish and chips today, a huge portion and super tasty, though I couldn’t finish it. Staff are attentive and friendly. It’s my favourite place to stay when I visit the office, since it feels like the countryside but is only a 5 minute drive from work. The hotel sits back from the main road, so it’s incredibly peaceful, in a beautiful setting and a lovely historic building. The rooms are great, especially the new ones, with decor that makes it feel like a spa retreat.

The staff make you feel so welcome and are very polite. Dave is a brilliant, hard working manager, and the breakfast chef was very polite too. Breakfast is well worth having, perfectly cooked, generous and made with local produce. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are comfortable, and it’s set in beautiful surroundings. Prices are reasonable, and it’s a fantastic place to stay.

The staff were fantastic and had no problem letting us leave our bikes at the hotel overnight before our cycle ride from Seascale. Our room was nice, we found no faults during our short stay, and it was great value. It’s an interesting building too. I’d recommend it to all kinds of visitors. If you’re doing a C2C from Seascale, though, don’t rely on Google/Apple Maps, you’ll need to take the main road.
