The sea view room was absolutely worth booking. I could see the water right from my bed, which was so cool. There’s a private garden beside the sea too, a lovely spot for dinner as the sun goes down. The hotel feels old-school, plush and vintage, but everything looked freshly renovated, and my bathroom seemed brand new. A nice bonus for visitors from the continent: no carpet in the bathroom, if you know what I mean. Loreta was a wonderful host and made sure I felt welcome and had what I needed. One of the cosiest hotels I’ve stayed in.

The room was spotless and had a kettle, mug, glass and spoon, which came in handy. I also had a lovely mountain view to look at in the morning and evening. Check-in and check-out were easy, and I got some useful suggestions for places to eat. The woman who runs the hotel was very kind, and I liked the decorations and furniture throughout the building. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We came for some peace and quiet by the sea, and that’s just what we found. Our room had a spectacular sea view and was clean and practical. There’s a beautiful place to sit at the bottom of the garden, with a table and chairs, where you can enjoy the views in peace. The hotel is kept immaculately, and our host was really friendly and accommodating.

We don’t usually choose B and Bs, but I’m glad we gave this one a try. Westcliffe was lovely and quiet, just right for a break, and well placed for exploring the West Lakes. We also had a great time on the Ravenglass railway, which I hadn’t ridden since I was a kid. The welcome was warm, and we got plenty of information about the area. Our room was very clean, with a lovely sea view despite the poor weather, and the bed was so good I nearly tried to take the mattress home. Breakfast and the service were great too. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We needed somewhere to stay while enjoying a train ride on the ravenglass railway, and chose this hotel based on the reviews we’d read. They lived up to expectations.
