Staff were really helpful, the place was very clean and the food was good. They even picked us up from the station, which was a big plus. I’d definitely stay again. I only had two issues: in Room 1, smokers gather under the window, so with it open you get the smoke too. They should be well away from the building. Breakfast was decent, but the egg tasted freshly cooked for me, while the sausage, bacon and black pudding seemed to have been cooked earlier and kept warm.

We booked lunch for Mother’s Day and had a really good meal. There were plenty of choices across the three courses, the food looked nicely presented and, most of all, tasted delicious. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the service was quick. I’d highly recommend eating here when it’s open.

The hotel was warm, cosy and very clean, with friendly staff who were happy to help. Breakfast was delicious, with a full English, smoked salmon, cereals, toast and fruit to choose from. We also tried the cheese plate dessert one evening and really enjoyed it. Our room was comfortable, with a great shower and useful extras like hair and body gels, a kettle, biscuits, tea and coffee. It’s a peaceful place in a quiet part of the Lakeland District, and handy for getting to the main towns and walks.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The staff are very friendly and make a real effort to help. The food is tasty too.

The food was good quality, and the service pleasant and friendly. Our room had a very comfortable bed and a good shower, with decor finished to a high standard. WiFi was fast throughout the hotel.
