A great base for walks, with easy access to the train line. The house was clean, nicely appointed, and had plenty of thoughtful extras, including a good coffee machine. WiFi was excellent throughout, even in the games room in the outhouse. Cooking meals here is easy, and The Crown, a welcoming pub, is only 400m away. There’s room to unpack and hang clothes. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

The Rowe House deserves a review, even though I hardly ever write them and this might be my first. We were welcomed like long-lost family. It’s spotless, laid out just right, and the views are so good they could make you smug about your Instagram posts. Much better than photos of people’s dinners! Every detail seems thought through, from comfy beds and excellent coffee to WiFi that actually worked, which feels like a rural miracle out here. There’s enough cutlery for a small army, and the games room is great for, ahem, entertaining the kids. It’s an ideal base to explore the Dales with friends or family, or to pretend you’re in a cosy countryside rom-com. I’d give it more than five stars if Google allowed it.

The Crown in the village is only a short walk away, and served great food at reasonable prices. This is a fantastic campsite with great views and facilities, in a peaceful spot that’s perfect for setting off on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. I’ll certainly return to Rowe House in the future.

Beautiful country home with amazing views. It was clean and welcoming, and had everything we needed. Very well equipped, really enjoyed our weekend stay.

A cosy, homely house equipped to a really high standard. Self-catering stays don’t get much better. It’s well placed for The Yorkshire Three Peaks, with plenty of lower level walks as well, and Settle is easy to reach.
