The two people on shift today, a young woman and a man, were great and made us feel welcome even while handling service on their own. We left the Forester very happy with Sunday lunch. The portions were generous and tasty, priced at £18.99 for one meat or £21.99 for two with trimmings. The cheesecake looked lovely, too, though the stuffing was dry and chewy and could use more moisture. In the toilets, grab bars would help older guests with mobility difficulties. Apart from those points, it's a lovely country pub with friendly service and good value. We'd happily recommend it.

The venison was cooked just right, and the vegetables still had a nice crunch. I didn't expect the food to be quite this good, some of the best I've had in ages. It's a beautiful pub with wooden beams overhead, a good wine list and really friendly staff. Highly recommend stopping in if you're nearby.

On our second visit in two years, the food was still at a very high standard and the staff were helpful and friendly. We all went for seafood from the good mix of meat and seafood dishes, and nobody was disappointed. The wine is available by the glass or bottle, though I'd love a few more bottle choices. Keep it up, and thanks.

Sunday's meal was fantastic, with lovely food, lots of choice for different tastes and a warm atmosphere. The landlord especially stood out with a great sense of humour, and the staff were lovely too. The roast looked divine, so we'll come back to try it. Definitely recommend a visit.

They'd decorated our table for my birthday without us asking, which was such a sweet touch. The staff were a joy and helped make the evening, including recommending a wine we liked so much I'll buy a bottle when we're home. The food was delicious and the portions generous. A lovely setting, cosy atmosphere, great staff and reasonably priced food. Just a joy of a place.
