The staff made a real effort to get to know us and help us feel at home. The hotel has a modern look but still feels welcoming, and there’s free parking both in front and behind the building. Our room was a decent size, with a lovely bathroom, soft towels and nicely scented toiletries. There’s also a hot tub. The bed was a little small, and there’s no air conditioning, though a pedestal fan is provided. Those were minor drawbacks for me, and I’d gladly stay at Auckland House again on my next trip to IoW.

The staff are friendly and professional, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was excellent, and they were happy to cater for dietary needs. Bar prices were reasonable too. The hotel had only been open a couple of months, so the decor was in great shape. I was really impressed and would recommend it.

Auckland House Hotel in Shanklin felt like real luxury, and our weekend went so well. We paid £300 for two nights on a deal, rather than the usual £418 for that room. The free hot tub is booked in one-hour slots, so it’s just you and nobody else. Our room had a queen-size bed, a huge walk-in wet room, kitchenette, robes, slippers and a big wall-mounted TV. Even the towels were folded into shells, and there was a hairdryer in the drawer. Breakfast was cooked fresh instead of sitting under hot lights, and the whole hotel was immaculate. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Guests also get 2-for-1 cocktails every day from 4 to 7. Worth every penny, and I’m very happy with how it all went.

We were a group of 11, booked at the last minute for a special family occasion, and everyone was so helpful from booking through arrival and our one-night stay. Special thanks to Helen at reception, the manager who was there on Thursday afternoon, and the waiter who served us that afternoon, along with all the friendly staff. The hotel itself was lovely and I’d definitely recommend it. We skipped dinner because we wanted a restaurant with a sea view, but breakfast was fab. Thanks, Alison Lambert.

The restaurant food was great, and it’s open to people who aren’t staying at the hotel too. This is a lovely, recently opened place with beautiful modern decor. All the staff were attentive and friendly. We’ll be back.
