Shanklin made a lovely base for exploring the island, and we were up and down the Chine at least twice a day. Claire and Boz were warm, welcoming hosts who knew great places to visit and eat. Our room was clean and comfortable, with access to a lovely veranda. Breakfast had an adequate choice. We stayed in early August, exactly the sort of visit we’d hoped for, and would happily return to the Braemar.

We had the superking room, number 4, which was spacious and opened straight onto a shared balcony. Breakfast was very nice, with plenty of choice and enough to set you up for the day. The owners were fantastic, welcoming and helpful. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the braemar and will definitely be back.

The games room with its pool table was a nice bonus, and the location is brilliant, right in the heart of Shanklin old village. We’re a young couple and both loved our stay, so we’ll definitely come back when we visit again. Our hosts made us feel very welcome. The room was immaculate, with a lovely outdoor terrace that would be perfect in nice weather. Breakfast was lovely each morning and had a wide choice.

Claire and Boz made my husband’s 60th birthday one to remember, with balloons and a happy birthday banner at our breakfast table. They also suggested a lovely restaurant for the celebration, and it didn’t disappoint. Their attention to detail and the extra effort they put in make the stay feel special. They’re such lovely people, and we’ll be back soon. We won’t stay anywhere else. Our room was very clean, with a large comfortable bed, and breakfast was hearty. The location in Shanklin old town is great, with free secure parking behind the house. We enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace in the sunshine. We had another fantastic weekend, and the warm, friendly greeting from Claire and Boz started as soon as we arrived.

We spent two nights here and will come back. The place is a real gem, right in the middle of town with parking at the rear. Hospitality, location and facilities were all faultless. The room was clean and well cared for, and the shower was excellent. You choose your cooked breakfast in advance from several options, and it was really well cooked.
