The Steamer Inn

We went for dinner and really enjoyed the meal. The food was excellent value, served hot, cooked well, and came in very good portions. There were good options for vegetarian and vegan diets. The staff were helpful and friendly. We didn’t stay at the hotel. I didn’t like that an older customer jumped in just as we were about to order.

The food was excellent, both in quality and portion size, and all the staff gave great service. You order at the bar. We waited a short while for a table and sat inside. Given it was the hottest weekend of the year so far, the wait was to be expected.

We come at least once each holiday, and only limit our visits because we also go to the sister pubs. This lovely place is well positioned for the beach and has amazing staff who are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The menu is what I’ve come to expect from this small chain of pubs across the island, with nothing that disappoints. The Steamer seems to focus more on fish, including seasonal options on a thoughtfully put together specials board.

We chose the Steamer inn for a family meal out. The pub has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly. The food was a good standard and arrived quite quickly. It’s in a beautiful setting in Shanklin, overlooking the sea. I’d most definitely recommend a visit.
