Villa Mentone Hotel

There’s a car park at the hotel, with on-street parking as another option. The beach is easy to reach on foot, though the walk back is uphill. There’s a lift from the esplanade to the road, then you walk along to the steps leading up to the hotel garden. We had lovely rooms, all clean with great views. Every room we saw but one had a sea view, and some had their own sea-facing balcony. Breakfast had hot food, croissants, toast, yoghurt, cereal, juice, hot drinks, and alternative milks. There’s plenty of lounge seating and outdoor seats for taking in the views, plus a garden room with a pool table. Salma and her staff were welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Salma even arranged a birthday cake and a pianist to play happy birthday for my mum. All the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a vibrant, quirky, chintzy hotel with plenty of character and history. If you’re after somewhere modern and luxurious without those things, it may not be for you. Some parts could do with updating, but the views, location and service made for an excellent holiday. Breakfast in the conservatory, looking out over the sea, was a real treat. Salma’s energy and design flair are especially noticeable in the reception area. We had a lovely few days at Villa Mentone, and Salma and her team were warm and helpful. I’d highly recommend staying here and hope to see you again.

The room was airy, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast setup was really nice. My 12 year old son and I had a great little holiday here. Thelma, the manager, was so helpful, and the staff were lovely. We parked at the hotel every day without any trouble, and getting around was easy. We’re going back next year!

We had fantastic sea views from our room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The free parking was a big bonus. It’s a great location for getting around the island, and breakfast was great too.
