The main course was amazing, and the staff were lovely. My husband and I came in for Sunday lunch and were blown away by the food, in a good way! We were disappointed that our table and the two others nearby waited over half an hour for desserts. The younger blonde waitress was really helpful and made sure we got them eventually. We told the manager we knew it wasn't her fault, because she was so lovely.

We booked because it was very affordable, then were surprised by how gorgeous it was. Lovely staff, beautiful views outside, and a huge regal room. There was somewhere to leave our bikes overnight, and it's a great place for a beer.

The staff were appalling and laughed at my disabled child. Danny behind the desk seemed more concerned about the young girls working there and wasn't helpful at all. After we got to the room, I went back down to ask for spare clothes, but was told there weren't any. The kettle wasn't working either. They said I could come down for tea and coffee in the morning. It wasn't warm, but acceptable.

We booked Christmas Day lunch and went to check the place out first. It's a lovely venue, with friendly, helpful staff, a large free car park, smart-looking toilets and plenty of outdoor areas to wander around. I couldn't get onto the free WiFi easily. There are dog-friendly areas with open flame fires when the season starts. We're also coming to see a medium on Monday. I'd recommend a visit to stay, see entertainment or just have a meal.

Friendly staff, a lovely hotel, and the food was lovely too. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Clock Tower.
