Orange Grove Hotel & Gardens

The staff made our Christmas meal with friends a great night. Lauren was especially lovely, and everyone from arrival to departure was fantastic. The food was genuinely good and arrived piping hot, even though our pod was outside and the furthest one from the kitchen. The pod itself was much too cold. Its small lamp heater did very little, and the door wouldn’t close tightly, so wind came through the gap. We ended up wearing our coats, which really shouldn’t be necessary given the hire cost. The heating needs sorting, but apart from that, we had a great evening thanks to the food and staff.

We’ve been twice for a roast, though we haven’t stayed at the hotel, and both meals were delicious. We also hired a pod. The roast came on a sharing board sized for our group, which we weren’t sure about at first, but there was plenty and it tasted great. The pod was heated, and my newborn and dog were both comfortable.

The reception food was exceptional, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. My son and daughter-in-law chose this venue for their wedding, and from the front desk to the cleaner I met on the stairs, the staff were professional, caring and attentive. They helped make the day special, and nothing felt like too much trouble. I couldn’t fault anything as a guest. If you’re considering an event, I’d suggest visiting to try the food and meet the team. The service we saw, including at the tasting day, matched what arrived on the wedding day. The staff seemed excellent in every role. I’d happily recommend The Orange Grove for an event or a stay.

They made my husband feel special for his birthday, and we came away from our Valentine’s dinner looking forward to returning. We’ve eaten here several times before and always liked the food and service, but on Saturday 14th Feb 2026 they went above and beyond. Everything was beautifully presented, high quality and cooked just right. Even with a busy occasion, the service stayed attentive, professional and very friendly, like you’d expect at a 5 star hotel. We had an unforgettable evening and the best time. Thank you to everyone. 10/10.
