The location was the main thing that brought my review down. Our room was beside a tunnel where people seemed to go to smoke, and it kept smelling of weed. It was too hot to leave the windows closed. The hotel is also by a busy road near st Marys, so sirens went off day and night. We were woken a bit, though you do get somewhat used to them. I’d just got back from a stay with my friend for my 20th birthday. The staff were so friendly, especially Sarah, who was welcoming, professional, and answered all our questions really well. Another woman in the restaurant stood out too, though we can’t remember her name. She had beautiful piercings and was funny and very caring. The room was average, but the bathroom was clean and the bedding and towels were fresh. We noticed some dust on the window sill and a mark on the chair, though neither affected our stay. Thanks for making my birthday extra special and fun. Keep up the good work.

Poppy, Charlene and Josef deserve a special mention. They were incredibly helpful and their warm, professional manner made our visit even better. I’ve stayed at this hotel several times and have had a fantastic experience each time, from start to finish. The staff are welcoming and always ready to help, and the room was spotless, roomy and comfortable. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable stay and good hospitality.

Breakfast was lovely and we had a really nice stay. The rooms could use USB plugs, which were missing. What stood out most was the friendly staff: James in the bar was exceptional and clearly valued, and Sara at reception was pleasant and very helpful.

Shelley made me feel safe and welcome while dining, taking careful steps around my allergies. She wiped the table with a fresh cloth, brought cutlery that hadn’t been in the table pot, had my food prepared separately, and washed her hands before handling my plate. She checked in and answered my questions, and was amazing throughout. The restaurant is lovely and the food was delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating from check-in, and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Southampton.

The car park is conveniently placed and easy to pay for by the main door, but spaces are limited. The hotel is well positioned for town, though a walk to the cruise terminal is a bit far. The restaurant and bar are nicely decorated. I had a quiet room, though I can’t speak for the others, and I’d like the option to choose a room. Helpful staff could take a while to find. My room had a torn chair and the window needed attention. It’s really closer to four and a half stars, and I’d recommend it.
