Pode Hole Bed Breakfast

There must be two places with the same name. I wanted a single room, but none was available, which surprised me as I was the only guest. I had to pay for a double. The room was nice and had tea, coffee, milk and the usual bits. They asked what time I wanted breakfast when I arrived, and over the two days it was the best I've ever had. I hardly saw the hosts, and only found out on my second night that there was a guest lounge, since I'd been spending the evenings in my room. For a health and safety issue, all the vertical blinds had mould along the bottom, and the outside of the window glass needed cleaning. The garden was large and well kept, with big pots on the patio.

Brian is a welcoming, genial host, and I'd have no hesitation about coming back. Parking was easy, and the place was clean and comfortable. The traditional English breakfast was cooked perfectly and absolutely enormous. You may not need to eat again that day. Six stars!

I chose this family-run place because it was ten minutes from where I needed to be, and I'm glad I did. I stayed two nights; it was lovely and clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. There's just one bathroom, but that wasn't an issue for me.

Brian and Rosie welcomed us and went out of their way to make our stay lovely. They were great company in the evenings too. The double bedroom was lovely, and breakfast was fantastic.
