The place is cosy and nicely decorated, and the dessert board had spelling mistakes, though the desserts were easily the best part of the meal. Staff were mixed, some better than others, and bar service dragged, with larger groups seeming to get priority. They'd run out of steak by 7pm on a Saturday. The food was reasonable, but at an above-average price. The chips weren't consistent, some soggy and others hard, while the onion rings were greasy and undercooked.

A great old pub with a lovely BnB room and a fab landlord. Sport on the telly too. Well worth a visit, though there's no breakfast. Grrrrr! 😆

I took my 18-year-old granddaughter here for lunch. The food was wonderful, if a little expensive, and still excellent value for money. Service was second to none. I'll definitely go again and recommend it to anyone. A must try.

I went for an evening meal with a friend and came away disappointed with the food. The atmosphere at The Ship Albion was still excellent under the new management, but the open-plan layout meant the football on the bar screen made for a very noisy meal and spoiled the evening. The menu has changed too. I ordered the same meal I'd had with my granddaughter the week before, but it was a letdown this time. How do you mess up a “ploughman's”? I'll give it a while and try again.
