The chefs were fantastic, the food was amazing, and everyone was so kind and polite to my little boy. One of the chefs made him a hot chocolate, which he loved and which made his morning. Our bedroom was really, really clean and nicely presented, and the garden outside was beautiful. We came from Redcar and had a peaceful, lovely stay from the start. Honestly, it was amazing, we didn't have a single fault and would definitely recommend it. Thank you so much ☺️ xx

I booked at the last minute, knowing very little about the place beyond its location near a family member I'm visiting who unfortunately isn't well. My daughter and I arrived around 8:30 pm, and checking in was easy. We only needed somewhere affordable to sleep, so we had no expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. I assume Tucana is their budget room because of the price. It was cute, comfortable, well kept, and much better than expected. The bed is really comfortable. The whole property is lovely and has good parking. Breakfast was lovely and filling, and we had a full English. One small tip: check the back of the breakfast menu for more choices. We booked excitedly and didn't notice! The woman serving breakfast and the young man were both very attentive. We're so happy with the stay that I'm writing this from my comfy bed while putting off checking out. I'll make sure to stay here whenever I'm visiting this part of the country. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and amazing, a great start to the day. This little gem in Co Durham is dog friendly and well maintained, with locals and returning guests often visiting. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming back.

The food was amazing, and the portions were huge. My wife is vegan, and the staff went above and beyond to check what she could and couldn't eat. They were unbelievable and couldn't do enough to help. We had an amazing stay in the Phoenix room, and we'll definitely be back.
