The breakfast buffet is a real highlight, with cooked dishes, continental choices, and fresh fruit, so there’s something for everyone. Newspapers are left in the foyer, which is handy since the WiFi barely works. The bar has limited options and is expensive, though a student hall bar probably isn’t the reason to visit St Andrews. The shower facilities are dated and could use a facelift, but they do the job. I’ve stayed twice, in 2023 with my partner and in 2025 with a friend. The double rooms are a little cramped but still comfortable, with a double bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, TV, and en-suite. It was plenty for two nights. The twin room was much better: two double beds, two full-sized desks, two large wardrobes, and an en-suite, with loads of space. Its TV didn’t seem to work, but we didn’t mention it since we only used the room to sleep. I found little to complain about across both stays and would book again. You get what you pay for.

The breakfast buffet had a huge choice, and my eight-year-old daughter and I both enjoyed it before heading out to explore St Andrews. The room was roomy enough and the bed cosy. It’s a nice place to stay at a decent price, and I’d recommend it.

The breakfast was what really made the stay for me. There was a massive buffet: cooked food, veggie sausages and haggis, pastries, toast with lots of spreads, cheeses and meats, cereals, and just about anything else you could want. The room was fine and had everything we needed, with a comfy bed. Reception had a hairdryer available, and the staff were friendly. We chose it because the price was really good for St Andrews, and I’ll definitely stay again.

The food was excellent, and the staff were really friendly. The rooms were nice, especially for one person.

The breakfast was amazing, with everything you need to start the day. It’s close to a bus stop and about a ten-minute walk from the bus terminal. Rooms can feel cramped for two people, but it’s still a great place to stay during the holidays.
