Tremarne Hotel

The suite was lovely, with a comfortable bed and a balcony looking out to sea. We were sorry the weather wasn't inviting enough to enjoy the pool, perhaps next time. Wes's cooking was superb at breakfast and dinner. Mevagissey was one of the most pleasant villages we came across on our Cornwall trip, and the Tremarne Hotel was a great choice. The owners made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Tam's cheerful nature seemed to reach every corner of the hotel and rub off on the rest of the wonderful staff.

This was our second visit, and we couldn't fault the hotel or its staff. It's spotlessly clean, with wonderful breakfasts, and just a short walk down to the harbour and village centre. There's a short drive to Gorran Haven, my favourite beach for swimming, and you can take the ferry to Fowey or enjoy walks including the Dodman. Next time we must try the Sunday roast at the Rising Sun in Portmellon, about a 10-minute walk away. It looked so good.

We had a fantastic weekend. The welcome was warm, everyone was friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. The room had a sea view, a very comfortable bed and lovely decor. Breakfast was excellent, and we also had a lovely evening meal. A couple of thoughtful extras were a complimentary cream tea when we arrived and Matchmakers on the pillows. Small touches, but they make a big difference. Can't wait to come back.

After a good night's sleep, we had a tasty breakfast, cooked and presented beautifully. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with a smile as they went about their work. Thanks to the whole team for going the extra mile and making our stay wonderful. We were warmly welcomed with a complimentary Cornish cream tea, and found the room and ensuite a good size and lovely and clean. There was even a box of chocolates on the bed!
