We preferred this to staying in a hotel. The Shepherd's Hut was quiet, peaceful and quirky, and the countryside was beautiful, with the north Norfolk coast and Sandringham close enough to reach. The hut was comfortable and well laid out, with an en-suite bedroom, TV and woodburning stove that we didn't need. A second hut had the fridge, a comfortable sofa and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast in the farmhouse was splendid. My homemade sausages were superb, and the English Breakfast came with free range eggs from the farm. My wife had pancakes, and everything was served and presented perfectly.

This review is a couple of years old, but I still think it applies. I only stayed once in the lovely house, during a borderline relationship with their son. The Aldridge's know how to make a beautiful home. Service was reasonable, though I didn't get the full experience since I was there as their son's guest, not a proper guest. Their cat, Ted, is the sweetest little thing, and I'd return just for him. Be careful of the owners.

The rooms were beautiful, cosy and comfortable, and the place had a lovely quirky feel. We were welcomed with warm scones and finished with a fabulous breakfast. Lovely people and great hospitality from start to finish.

A beautiful little setting, very clean and tidy, with an excellent breakfast. It's close to the sea and plenty of other interesting places to visit. What's not to like?
