The Carpenters Arms

I had to find somewhere at short notice after my work plans changed, and the staff fitted me in with an available room at a very reasonable price. The room was thoughtfully laid out, and the bed was spacious and comfortable. I honestly had the best night's sleep I've ever had in a hotel. The restaurant food was fantastic, with plenty of choice and more than adequate portions, and the place had that lovely village pub atmosphere. I'll definitely stay again when work brings me back to the area.

The Sunday roast was excellent value, with generous portions and a really nice presentation. They also cater for different diets, with dairy-free dessert and ice cream, plus a good selection of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Great food, atmosphere, price and service. 10/10, I'll be back.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch and would definitely come back for the food. It was cosy, a comfortable temperature, and had a nice vibe. Since we only booked the day before, we sat in the bar area, which was still very nice. The food was delicious, though it felt very pricey given that we only had soft drinks, and the desserts were expensive too.

Getting there takes you a bit out of the way, but the pub is worth the trip. It's a lovely old place with several dining rooms. I went for a Christmas meal with friends and had a very tasty nut roast, while the others chose traditional turkey. The food was good and there was plenty of it.
