The conservatory looks out over the gardens, and breakfast there came with really good porridge. The reception and breakfast staff were lovely. Our room had recently been redone, especially the bathroom, which was one of the nicest I’ve seen. We were also welcomed with a complimentary glass of Prosecco at check-in. Such a lovely place, you’ll want to stay.

Liz, the owner, was wonderful and had loads of local knowledge and useful advice. We’re planning to come back in July. The room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed and a small but great shower room. It’s a fabulous privately run guest house. The single-glazed windows, perhaps because it’s a listed building, let in more noise, and I woke with the dawn chorus.

Breakfast was wonderful, and the fresh, airy room was very comfortable. There’s a great outdoor pool, so bring your swimsuit, and the bath is large. The minibar had chilled water and fresh milk, and there was a safe in the room. We felt very welcome. Can’t fault the place!

There are superb walking trails all around town, and several pubs and cafes are just a short walk away. The property itself is lovely, with tidy gardens, a good-sized swimming pool, a snooker table and a licensed bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommend it.

Breakfast was outstanding, especially the scrambled eggs, tasty mushrooms and porridge with its cream and whiskey twist. It’s a cosy find, with lovely mature flower gardens and places to sit. There’s a pool set in one of the gardens, plus a games room where you could while away hours.
