The Meadowpark

The food was delicious, and the staff were lovely. We came for Sunday dinner with family and had what was probably the best Sunday roast I've ever eaten. Great decor and atmosphere too.

The Cullen Skink and Bao Buns were so good, and the Elder Flower and Berry Spritz was sweet, fizzy and refreshing. There are plenty of drinks to pick from, including some really nice alcohol-free ones. We also had great service and food. It wasn't especially quick, so allow for that, though maybe the off-season visit played a part. Pick the right table and you can see Stirling Castle while you eat.

The man who served us was lovely and so accommodating with our baby, and the meal itself was nice. But two people in our family became ill afterwards. We contacted the restaurant straight away, yet it took four weeks for them to follow up about a food safety investigation. That feels far too long. The hygiene company asked the people who got sick to get input from their GP, but nearly a month had passed, so that wasn't possible. They also asked what other food they'd eaten that week, which is hard to remember so long afterward. At this point, if the illness came from the restaurant, it seems like it may be impossible to find out. That doesn't feel safe.

The building is beautiful, and both the food and staff were fantastic. I live a long way from here, but I'm already making plans to come back. Haven't been yet? Go!
