We had a great time here while travelling with two old friends who now live in Australia. We booked three rooms for the night of 21st September 2025, and they were nice and well appointed. The bar had a fantastic atmosphere, the staff were always ready to serve, and the local people were friendly. Our full English breakfast the next morning was one of the best I've had on my travels. This was a little gem for us wanderers. If I get back to the area, possibly to go racing, I'd stay again at this excellent Hotel and bar. Thoroughly recommend it.

A top place to stay. The room was clean, tidy and very well appointed, just a little on the small side.

I was placed here because of personal issues. The pub staff were amazing and easy to get on with, and the food and drinks at the bar were very good. The hotel staff were the opposite, very moody and seemingly eager for me to leave. It got to the point where I felt harassed. My advice is not to stay here.

Paul and his team at The Hardwick Arms in Sedgefield have made a proper community pub, with two bars, classic pub food, sport on TV and a pool table. The atmosphere is great and welcomes people of all ages. The new menu is top-notch, and where else can you get a 10oz steak for under £20? Go on, give it a try. I love the landlord, the pint, that is!

The location was nice, with a lovely Italian next door, and the service was great. I had a fantastic stay and would love to come back. The full English breakfast in the morning was the best I've ever had.
